ICELANDAIR
DINNERWARE
Objective: design an airline meal tray including dinnerware and cutlery for an existing company
Solution: products inspired by northern landscapes that introduce a fresh look to dining in the sky while building on Icelandair's current designs and environmentally friendly business practices
RESEARCH
-
Understanding users and the environment on planes, especially in relation to dining
-
Studying space, tray, and seat dimensions and regulations
-
Needs finding
-
Becoming familiar with the meal options on Icelandair
BRANDING
Mood Board
Inspiration for the branding came from the natural beauty of Iceland as well as from the water bottles that are currently served on Icelandair flights.
The geometric shapes of the icebergs on the dinnerware connect to the same line work on the tray creating a visual illusion that the icebergs are growing straight out of the tray.
